What's an ONT?

You may have heard the term 'ONT' before when it comes to your fibre installation.

ONT stands for Optical Network Terminal, and it converts the signal coming into your house through the fibre optic cabling, allowing you to access the Infinics Broadband Network.

ONT Ports:
PON: This is the fibre optic cable that comes from the exchange, to your house. Be careful with this! We don't advise touching it unless advised by our team.
Ethernet: This is the port that connects your ONT to your router.
Reset: Pressing this factory resets the ONT, please do not press this unless specifically advised to by our team.
Power: This connects your ONT to power.
On/Off: This is the button controlling power to the unit. If asked to reboot the ONT, this is the button you should press (and again to turn it back on after a short period).

Your ONT should look similar to the below (although yours should have some cables!)
